The DNA Manual

Forensic DNA is powerful and compelling evidence in criminal cases.  When properly collected and handled, it is an unbiased tool in the reconstruction of the sequence of events surrounding a crime.  Objective evidence of this kind is especially useful in crimes of a highly sensitive nature, such as child sexual abuse.

Manual on Taking the Sworn Statement of Children

A child witness is not a miniature adult witness.  A child has different needs and limitations based on his/her developmental stage.  Valuable evidence can be obtained only by a well-trained interviewer.  This manual provides key questions and approaches in taking a child’s sworn statement which was completed after a series of consultations with a team of experts composed of judges, child rights’ lawyers, law enforcers, and child protection specialists.

Officially endorsed by the Philippine Judicial Academy, Commission on Human rights, Department of Justice, Philippine National Police, and National Bureau of Investigation
