Girl-Children in Vulnerbale Situations, c2006 This paper was presented by Ms. Teresita Silva in the Expert Group Meeting on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination and Violence Against the Girl Child held in Florence, Italy in September 2006. The paper presents an overview of the Strategic Development Framework for the Girl Child in the Philippines. It also discusses the issues confronting the girl children and presented some case studies and best practices on behalf of the urban poor and street girl children in the Philippines. Lastly, recommendations are put forth.
