Adolescence is a period normally associated with the waning influence of the family and the increasing importance of peers in the adolescent's life. This paper looks at family and peer influences among a sample of urban senior high school students differentiated according to gender, type of school (private vs. public), type of section (regular vs. high) and urban location (Angeles City vs. Metro Manila).
