This report consists of representative case studies of violence against children in the Philippines. Various forms of violence against children are discussed as follows: violence in the home and in the family, violence in the community and on the streets, violence in schools, and violence against children in conflict with the law. Findings of the report reveal the following: 1) poverty is a major reason for violence in the home; 2) some of the children are forced to live on the streets because of family problems and peer influence; 3) physical and verbal abuses are also committed in schools by fellow students, teachers and officials; and 4) Filipino children in conflict with the law receive very limited support from the government, and oftentimes they are illegally detained and sentenced.
