This book provides a statistical and descriptive account of what children say about the everyday violence-both physical and emotional-used as punishment against them within the context of childrearing, discipline and education in eight countries (Cambodia, Fiji, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Republic of Korea and Viet Nam). It is a Save the Children Sweden Regional Office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific contribution to the United Nations Secretary General's Global Study on Violence and Children as well as the outcome of Save the Children commitment to finding rights-based approaches to research with children, including their meaningful participation in research processes.
