This guide is part of the project "Mobilizing Teacher's Action against Child Labor: ACT Community-based Strategies" of ACT and ILO-IPEC. It aims to raise awareness and uphold the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC) and the International Labor Organization's Conventions. It guides teachers in facilitating sessions that explore the children's self-concept and explains human and children's rights.

The manual recognizes the teachers' central role in raising awareness and mainstreaming advocacies. They are in the best position to explain the concepts and practices in the community and teach children about their rights. The manual has colorful illustrations and the text is written in colloquial speech.
