This book documents ECLIPSE's history, struggles, limitations and more importantly, best practices that have evolved from its ten years of journey with children working in the sugarcane plantations of Ormoc City and Kananga and Albuera municipalities in Leyte.

Specifically, the objectives of the study are the following: (1) present the historical context of the birth of ECLIPSE and how it developed into an organization responding to the issue of child labor in the sugarcane fields; (2) show the purpose, core values and philosophy, strategies, concrete programs and services of ECLIPSE; (3) highlight the best practices of ECLIPSE in responding to the issue of child labor; (4) identify shortcomings and weaknesses, make recommendations and offer alternatives.
